Conflict in The Golden State over Marijuana

What’s the conflict you ask?  Simple enough it’s Marijuana.  In the land of hippies, Cheech and Chong, the state is having a conflict about marijuana.  A state known for the first to legalize medical marijuana is now having a close conflict over the full legalization of pot.

The new polls show the public is deeply divided.  You have pot growers opposing it, some law enforcement is in favor of it, and some medical marijuana patients are on the fences.  Of course you have the federal law hanging over everyone’s head in the distance.  The Supreme Court has ruled that no matter how California votes on proposition 19 it is still illegal federally.

Kahn fined over comments of Beasley smoking Marijuana

David Kahn, the boss of the Timberwolves, was being interviewed by a radio show and made a comment about new teammate Michael Beasley that he smoked too much marijuana while playing in south beach.  Kahn made his first public comments since he and the team were fined $100,000 by the NBA.

Marijuana or Marijuana Ice cream – Which one you want?

Time appears to have come to choose between pot smoking and eating a bowl of ice cream. The medical marijuana dispensary has started selling ice creams – Banannabis Foster, Straw-Mari Cheesecake and TRIPle Chocolate Brownie marijuana-infused ice creams – alongside run-of-the-mill bags of pot.

The ice cream is yet to be consumed on site; but marijuana patients have the option to buy and take their medication home either to smoke or enjoy with dessert. Proprietor Jonathan Kolodinski says that at present they have three flavors of ice cream; however they are planning for more flavors in future. Kolodinski has opened the dispensary in front of Dominican Hospital this week.

Indian Affairs help bust Marijuana crop on trust land

The Bureau of Indian Affairs Office of Justice Services Division of Drug Enforcement helped Caddo County Oklahoma Sheriff’s Office in the discovery of a drug operation by a leaseholder looking for lost livestock.  The land was being lease near Carnegie, Okla.

Bus driver had smoked pot in Fatal Wreck

Three Japanese tourists were killed in a rollover crash in Utah last month and the bus driver for the tour bus had marijuana in his system.  The 26 year old bus driver, Yasushi Mikuni, was charged with 10 felony counts of negligent driving under the influence and one misdemeanor charge of having marijuana residue in his body.  He fell asleep at the will from lack of sleep according to authorities.  Eleven people were injured in the crash.

Marijuana Growers are now joining the Union

A local Teamsters Union, number 70, inside of Oakland California, has 40 nearly new members this month.  Marjyn Investments LLC, a medical marijuana company, has its workers interested. The workers are contracted to grow cannabis for the medical marijuana patients.

The workers for this company know how to do skill that consist of gardening all the way up to cloning the plants themselves.  They are the first union in our nation’s history to be a unionized marijuana company.

Federal Judge denies pot charge

A Federal District Court Judge declined to dismiss the first effort against a Highlands Ranch medical-marijuana grower, Chris Bartkowicz, who argued medical marijuana is fundamentally different from the federal law prohibiting regular cannabis.

The motion was the first one heard on what will be a critical day in federal case agains Mr. Bartkowicz.  He was arrested and charged with federal drug cultivation crimes after giving an interview to the 9News team back in February.  He could face life in prison.

Robbery suspect dies in Lindsay

A 17-year-old child from Lindsay died from the injuries they acquired in the marijuana related shooting from back on September 14th of this month.   The robbery which three other people and he committed happened at a legal grow home on Road 144 and Ave 216.

Medical Marijuana advocates oppose Prop. 19

You read the title right and you’re asking yourself how can someone who has any involvement want to oppose this bill.  As I’m writing this I’m still wondering myself how anyone dealing with the drug marijuana wouldn’t want this bill to pass.  This has been a long time coming and too many people have fought to get this drug legalized for medical and recreational purposes.
