TE for Buccaneers busted for Marijuana

Jerramy Stevens, TE for the Buccaneers, was arrested on marijuana charges.  He was pulled over in Tampa for loud music, and when the officer approached the vehicle had smelled marijuana.  After further search of the car the police found 38 grams of marijuana.  Stevens was charged with marijuana possession, intent to sell, and possession of paraphernalia.

Man complained to Cops about Bad Marijuana

Out in Uniontown, Pa a southwestern man called 911 to complain about some terrible marijuana he had just purchased, which turned out to be something other than cannabis.  Police say the man told officers he bought marijuana earlier that day and that “it was nasty” when he smoked it.

Marijuana and Guns don’t mix or do they?

Out in Colorado you can use marijuana for medicinal purposes and you can also purchase firearms, but you can’t purchase both at the same time.   Due to federal and state laws there are conflicts between the two not allowing this.

Man accused of teaching nephew how to smoke Pot

A Rosemount man has been accused of teaching his teenage nephew how to smoke marijuana, then putting it on YouTube.  Authorities say an uncle of a 15-year old nephew has taught him how to smoke pot then post it on YouTube.  The Rosemount man posted four videos on YouTube on how to smoke marijuana and roll blunts.  The videos have been removed from the website.

North Texas’s 15ft Marijuana Plants

Out in Grayson County, which is in north Texas, investigators have uprooted a massive marijuana plant that could have yielded about 1,140 pounds of quality marijuana.  The street value of the plant would estimate to be $800,000.

The marijuana plants found by authorities ranged in height from 6 feet to 15 feet and had numerous amounts of ‘buds’ growing on it.  The bud is the part of the plant growers’ want because on the street it could yield between 1 to 2 pounds on marijuana plant like this.

Medical Marijuana grower gets plea deal

A local medical marijuana grower in Colorado announced his operation on a local broadcast news channel back in February.  Federal investigators who arrested the man are now offering him a plea deal, which would leave the man five years in a federal prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’ Office in Colorado.

Man arrested for Marijuana Possession in Iowa

In Iowa City, Iowa an Illinois man was arrested after the police found him with a substantial large quantity of marijuana on him.  According to authorities, Brett Ian Fox, 18, of Highland Park, Ill was stopped for a traffic violation around 7 p.m. at night on Wednesday.  It happened at the intersection of Church and Dodge streets in Iowa City, the police stopped the vehicle and the K-9 alerted officers toe the presence of marijuana in the vehicle.

Michelle Rainey dies from Cancer

Michelle Rainey, medical marijuana advocate, died from cancer.  She was Marc Emery’s ex-business partner and had lived with Crohn’s Disease since a teenager.  In her last years of her life she struggled against melanoma and lymphatic cancer.

Her husband Jef Tek and mother Emilie, who were by her side holding her hand when she succumbed Wednesday night, survive her.  The 39 year old was the organizational force behind Emery’s pot-based business empire although their relationship deteriorated and they split after being hit with a 2005 U.S. drug and money laundering indictment.

Ohio seizes 70,000 Marijuana Plants in 2010

Attorney General Richard Corday for Ohio announced that law enforcement has seized more than 70,000 marijuana plants statewide in 2010.  This has been the largest total since 1997.  The recent influx in the number of plants has been attributed to the large number of Mexican grow operations.  Half the plants seized throughout the year have been from these types of commercial marijuana growing operations.

Tacoma will keep Marijuana dispensaries open

Eight dispensaries in Tacoma had a showdown with the city of Tacoma Tuesday after both sides called for new state Legislature to come up with a clearer plain on how medical-marijuana patients can legally access the drug if they don’t grow it themselves.
