On Saturday night two individuals were arrested in a parking lot for smoking marijuana. Cathie Petula, 60, of Ossining, NY, and James Zappolo, 52, of North Salem, NY, were both arrested on charges of marijuana possession at the Ridgefield Playhouse in CT. it was around 7:50 p.m., just before the start of a concert at the Playhouse featuring a band called Foghat.
I was amazed to see they are arresting older individuals who just want to listen to some good music in a good mood w/ a good high. There were probably people causing violence and instead police have nothing better to do with their time then to arrest some non-violent offenders.
Then on Monday around 9:30 a.m., the Ridgefield Police had responded to a utility problem on Mountain Road. When they arrived they found four marijuana plants in the planter on the front porch. Now how stupid can you be to put something of this nature in plain view. You might as well invited them in for a joint.
Christopher Owczarzak, 49, was arrested on charges of marijuana possession and cultivation. He made a written promise to the court that he would appear in Danbury Court on October 29, 2010, so they released him out of jail.
Looks like another case of bad police judgment. Again a non harmful person being taken down to the jail when there are way worse criminals to catch. Don’t CT Police have anything better to do then to waste taxpayer money?
