According to the survey conducted in the past year about 4.7 percent of adults over the age of 50 have used some form of illicit drug in the past year. That’ percentage is about 4.3 million people. Forty-five percent of those reported used marijuana.
Usage of marijuana appeared to be more common among the younger Baby Boomers. The adults ranged from 50 to 59 preferring the drug. Within the past year about 8.5 percent of men between the ages of 50 to 54 reported using marijuana. The ‘60s and ‘70s was a heavy time for the usage of all drugs, which included a lot of pot smoking. When you have bands like Jimi Hendrix playing large Woodstock festivals how can you blame them.
It looks though that Baby Boomers are going to be smoking till they die literally, but it won’t be from the drug, it will be from a healthy soul, body, and mind. I’m definitely coming for the ride with them. The earth has made this wonderful plant and I’m going to take advantage.
