One of the questions asks is “Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?” While marijuana is legal under state law for medicinal purposes, the same can’t be said federally as it is still illegal.
Medical marijuana users who want to purchase a gun could try bluffing because the Bureau of Investigation isn’t allowed to compare applicant responses with the names of the Medical Marijuana registry. If you’re found bluffing or lying on your ATF form you can do prison time for fraud.
